Summary:
|
December 14, 1877 letter to Lt. E. B. Thomas, commander of the Naval Depot at Key West, Florida, informing him that the Light House Steamer "Dandelion" was en route with six specimen cylinders, cosigned to his name, for use on board the U.S. Coast Steamer "Blake." Much of the lettering is faded, but can be discerned with some effort. The paper is frail, thin to the point of transparency, and has been eaten away at some points by rust due to the iron based ink used. The page number of the ledger this letter was copied into appears on the upper right. Parts of another letter are clearly visible through the paper. |
