The photo showcases many of the buildings of the station including Building 38 in the right hand side and the water tower in the background. The condition of the beach is conspicuous. The back of the photo has extra details on who the photo was sent to in February 1914 as well as an archival summary.

A model AH plane is currently being taxied into the water. Flying boats are close to the camera than the model AH's which sit farther down the beach.

The photo seems to show rough weather and the conditions planes were housed in before metal hangars were constructed. On the back is information penciled in that appears to be dated 1914 which states that two airplanes were housed at the "Navy Yard" along with an archival summary.

The photo was printed on post card paper and the back showcases it's intent to be used in such a way. The back also has an archival summary which notes that the photo was possibly taken from the Bulkhead pier.
