Photo of a temporary barracks at NAS Pensacola taken sometime between 1917 and 1918. The crowded cots and lack of overhead lighting indicate this may be a temporary quarters. Two sailors can be seen in the photo as well as multiple blankets and boots. On April 6, 1917 Pensacola was still the only naval air station and housed 38 naval aviators, 163 enlisted men trained in aviation support, and 54 fixed-wing aircraft. Two sailors can be seen in the photo as well as multiple blankets and boots. On April 6, 1917 Pensacola was still the only naval air station and housed 38 naval aviators, 163 enlisted men trained in aviation support, and 54 fixed-wing aircraft. Two years later, by the signing of the armistice in November 1918, the air station had 438 officers and 5, 538 enlisted personnel.

View of hangars at NAS Pensacola taken between mid-March and Mid-November 1918. At the left is Curtiss R-6, BuNo A-176, which was received on July 3, 1917 and Struck off Charge May 31, 1922. Also at the left is the Curtiss H-12 Flying Boat, BuNo A-722, was received at NASP on March 12, 1918 and Struck off Charge November 16, 1918 with just 339 hours of flight time. Sailors and personnel can also be seen milling about the base.

This plane was delivered to NAS Pensacola on October 18, 1918. The seaplane observation tower can be seen beyond the hangars and Wet Basin while sailors mingle about the ramp.

The frame and barge arrived on May 19, 1916 and the installation of the skin and curtain was completed in early October 1916. Dirigible DN-1 arrived in mid-December 1916.

In the first photo, the procession is marching west on Garden street into the intersection with Palafox as can be seen in the bottom left photo where the street sign is present. The second photo shows the procession in front of the Isis theater on Garden Street. A horse drawn caisson can be seen in the center of the photo in front of the officer's column. Street car tracks are also visible in both photos with a street car visible clearly visible in the bottom of the second photo. The crowd of onlookers is made up of at least white and black citizens. Various modes of transportation are also visible in the side streets such as cars, horses and carts, and bicycles.

Aerial photo of Melinda's Ditch taken sometime between 1916 and 1917. The name refers to the stream in the bottom center of the photo which was named after a woman who owned a brothel on a hill overlooking Woolsey and the bay. The house stood where a riding corral rests in the center of the photo. A sandy walking path is visible leading from the corral to the stream. On the back of the photo is an archival summary in type which provides the context for the name of the stream.
