Aerial photo of the Wet Basin taken sometime after May 6, 1918. Hangar Barge One is moored in the Wet Basin as are SC-1 Class Submarine Chasers 336 and 158. Moored at the left entrance to the Wet Basin is US Navy Coal Barge 214 with the affixed aircraft catapult. The building at the top of the Wet Basin is Building 45, general storehouse and office space. To the left of Hangar Barge One is Building 38, machine shop. Photo of the back of the Commandant's Quarters at NAS Pensacola taken in 1917. Notable are the iron bars around the porch and balconies which seem to enclose the entire home. On the roof a worker can be seen towards the center left of the photo and the top of the building has been painted in a camouflage scheme which was used during World War I. The back of the photo holds a stamp of the NAS Pensacola photo lab, a description of the building in pencil indicating it as the Commandant's...

Born in Newcomertown, Ohio on April 26, 1899, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy Reserve Forces on April 29, 1918 at the Navy Yard, Washington D.C. He was called to Active Duty May 1, 1918 and arrived at NAS Pensacola on November 11, 1918. He was Landsman for Quartermaster 125 days; Quartermaster, Second Class (Aviation) 71 days; Gunner's Mate, First Class; Released March 12, 1919. Honorable Discharge September 30, 1921....
