Abstract:	Like most letters from the Pacific Theater, Mark can say little about where he is or what kind of action is going on. He tells Eloise, his wife, about letters he has received, folks he has been writing to, the huge amount of mail they are sending back to San Francisco (hub for soldier mail distribution) tied in tin bands, and asks Eloise how the 1889 clock is doing.
