Journal for the month of July. Entries are written across two pages and include notes on the weather, persons on watch, absences, as well as tasks and repairs completed at the lighthouse. An Engineers Working Party began on Monday the 10th, the U.S.S. Tallapoosa arrived Tuesday the 11th towing a section of the navy dock and the U.S.S. Powhattan arrived Wednesday the 12th. Both left with the USS Monitor Canonicus on Wednesday the 26th. |
