Summary:
|
Photo looking West towards Warrington Beach from the observation tower at NAS Pensacola, taken August 22, 1918. Sailors and sea planes can be seen on the ramps into the hangars. Buildings are still painted in the camouflage scheme used during World War I. Two copies are provided due to differences in descriptive details on the front and back of the photos. Penciled on the back of the first copy is descriptive information that questions when the photo was taken and noting that it must have been taken from "the Tower." The second copy has a date etched in the top left corner of the front of the photo, a stamp of the NAS Photo Lab and an archival summary on the back. |
