Summary:
Telegram from dated Aug. 9, 1927, addressed to Gov. John W. Martin. States "Miss Frederickson found dead in Negro hospital Friday night. Buried Saturday evening without inquest. The coroner said the death was caused by marital (sic) insufficience. People are not satisfied. Body disinterred yesterday and viewed by the jury. Death caused from abortion, it is said—no inquest in other cases. People aroused. The sheriff stated he was doing everything possible to get to bottom of the case. Negro woman under arrest."
