Letter from Mrs. H.L. Whidby to the KKK of Pensacola, May 28. 1927

- Handwritten letter on lined notepaper, dated May 28, 1927, addressed to Ku Klux Klan of Pensacola, signed by Mrs. H L. Whidby. Envelope addressed Ku Klux Klan, Pensacola, Fla. Mrs. Whidby writes that she wants to let women know of the hardships she has suffered. Reports she has been married "about nine years." The first year was happy, then her husband began to beat her and it has continued to get worse and he now sees other women. States he claims he does this because she had not produced a child, but Dr. Ames says it is not a problem with him that has prevented pregancy. He has threatened her life. She wants the Klan to take him out and punish him for the way he treats her. Gives her address on East Right Streeet, may be 810 E. Wright. She would like to meet with someone and so she can be sure they understand her situation.
