Summary:
Letter from Dr. JNO. (John) A. Van Valzah to R.C. Willis mentioning his loss in a recent election and later support of Carter (no other name given) as well as the support of "a number of papers" and clippings his supporters had sent him. He goes on to say that he will be travelling to North Carolina and recently sold some land. The sale along with a recent vote to name the city as a port, he says, will help him recoup his monetary loses from the election. Near the closing he mentions also investing in the new St Augustine Bridge. On the back of the letter is the copy of a letter from Arthur Capper, a U.S. Senator, to Van (Valzah) in response to an initial letter- also copied on the back- to the senator.
