Photo of Station Field taken in 1922 which showcases a squadron of approximately 40 Curtiss JN-4HT aircraft parked before the hangars. The back of the photo contains descriptive information on the nature of the subjects and the date the photo was taken. A stamp of credit to the U.S. Navy is also present as well as a stamp that the photo was developed at the NAS Photo Lab. A small archival summary is also presented for additional context.

Aerial photo of the balloon field at NAS Pensacola taken sometime between October 1917 and August 1918. Visible is the dirigible hangar in the lower right corner of the photo. The two dark roofed buildings are "Magazines" which housed ammunition. Clearly visible is the sand shelves below the water just beyond the beach as well. Photo of one of the tent camps outside NAS Pensacola taken 1917 - 1918. Sailors wander about their tasks while a few look towards the camera. Camp Bennett was situated on the bay with a few trees was used for 21 day quarantine of new arrivals to ensure no diseases were spread around the men. Work parties maintained the camp's cleanliness. Camp Mustin, located between the Naval hospital and Warrington Beach, was used as quarters for enlisted personnel. It is unknown which camp is photographed...

Photo of a temporary barracks at NAS Pensacola taken sometime between 1917 and 1918. The crowded cots and lack of overhead lighting indicate this may be a temporary quarters. Two sailors can be seen in the photo as well as multiple blankets and boots. On April 6, 1917 Pensacola was still the only naval air station and housed 38 naval aviators, 163 enlisted men trained in aviation support, and 54 fixed-wing aircraft. Two sailors can be seen in the photo as well as multiple blankets and boots. On April 6, 1917 Pensacola was still the only naval air station and housed 38 naval aviators, 163 enlisted men trained in aviation support, and 54 fixed-wing aircraft. Two years later, by the signing of the armistice in November 1918, the air station had 438 officers and 5, 538 enlisted personnel.

View of hangars at NAS Pensacola taken between mid-March and Mid-November 1918. At the left is Curtiss R-6, BuNo A-176, which was received on July 3, 1917 and Struck off Charge May 31, 1922. Also at the left is the Curtiss H-12 Flying Boat, BuNo A-722, was received at NASP on March 12, 1918 and Struck off Charge November 16, 1918 with just 339 hours of flight time. Sailors and personnel can also be seen milling about the base.

The photo was printed on post card paper and the back showcases it's intent to be used in such a way. Taken sometime in 1914 or 1915, a Curtiss model F sits in the foreground while a Curtiss AH rests at the end of it's own ramp. Navy men can be seen working and chatting on AH's ramp as well.

A model AH plane is currently being taxied into the water. Flying boats are close to the camera than the model AH's which sit farther down the beach.
