Letter to R. W. Thompson which accompanied reports of personnel of the Pensacola Navy Yard, vessels in repair, prisoners, and suspended, arrested, or confined officers, among others, for the month of December, 1877. The commandant failed to sign his name on this letter. The paper is thin to the point of transparency and the page of the ledger this letter was copied into appears in the upper right corner.

December 10, 1877 letter to Daniel Ammen, Chief of the Bureau of Navigation, sent in response to an order from the Department to inform them about an inquiry into the condition of the Steam Engineering department at the Pensacola Navy Yard. The order was due to discrepancies in the number of stores on hand and in the ledgers. A James Sheppard, Boatswain, was detained as a witness in response to this. Aerial photo of Melinda's Ditch taken sometime between 1916 and 1917. The name refers to the stream in the bottom center of the photo which was named after a woman who owned a brothel on a hill overlooking Woolsey and the bay. The house stood where a riding corral rests in the center of the photo. A sandy walking path is visible leading from the corral to the stream. On the back of the photo is an archival summary in type which provides the context for the name of the stream.
