Wentworth states he has enclosed a check for $2.00 for 40 copies of the August issue of the Kourier Magazines (actual wording is "Fonty Kourier Magazines." It is believed this should be Forty). Wentworth states that "Having a mighty hard fight down here. The Catholics have a boycott on my business, and you know how the Protestants are here....
Show moreThe letter is written on letterhead for T. T. Wentworth, Jr., Hardware, Tools, and Cutlery. Addressed to Dr. W. A. Hamlet (sic) and dated August 16, 1927. Wentworth states he has enclosed a check for $2.00 for 40 copies of the August issue of the Kourier Magazines (actual wording is "Fonty Kourier Magazines." It is believed this should be Forty). Phillips is pleased that things are going well in Pensacola. He states he knows the Pensacola group needs "some new life," and he is going to have Varnum come over and "give you people the time that is required to put you on your feet." He says he would like for Pensacola to have 1,000- 1,500 members within the next 2 years.

Tugwell, and P.H. Schrieber. On the last page, Wentworth lists the new Klan officers' names and positions he would like to be appointed by Phillips.
