Handwritten draft on unlined notepaper, at the top, is "Political Unity--Only Remedy" This appears to be a draft for a letter to be mailed to select people. It states that the Catholic Church must be stopped through "Political Unity--of those people who see the menace to save the country." The letter states, "You are looked upon as a man on the right side; therefore you are invited to become affiliated (sic) with the Political Unity League" and assures the reader that "it is absolutely (sic)...

It continues by stating that "Much work must be done before the 1928 election" and that they do not want anything mailed out to fall into the wrong hands. The reverse has a handwritten list of names: J. A. Pfeiffer; Robert Hood, shops; M. Hannah, drug store; Leo Resmundo, L&N shop; Dr. Brunson, W. Bel.; Jim Godwin; C. H. The letter talks of the upcoming Third Klonvokation of the KKK in Washington, DC, and that Phillips wants every Exalted Cyclops in the state to attend, along with as many of the members, Klanswomen, Juniors, Tri-K girls and Krusaders as possible. All attending will take part in a parade September 13th....

States Langford is a 32nd degree Mason and the incumbent for the office is a Catholic and a member of the Knights of Columbus and that two incumbent City Commissions are Masons, but they and a number of other Masons are either supporting Johnson or are opposed to Langford, "proving that al men who wear the emblem are now true" Ends with...

Mrs. Whidby writes that she wants to let women know of the hardships she has suffered. Reports she has been married "about nine years." The first year was happy, then her husband began to beat her and it has continued to get worse and he now sees other women. States he claims he does this because she had not produced a child, but Dr. Ames says it is not a problem with him that has prevented pregancy. He has threatened her life. She wants the Klan to take him out and punish him for the way he treats her. Gives her address on East Right Street, may be 810 E. Wright. She would like to meet with someone and so she can be sure they understand her situation.

Garcia mentions the National Scramba Card Movement, which wants to deport 7.5 million aliens. He also writes that the Klan is needed to stop "communists, fascists, and Nazists" that are "attempting to overthrow the U.S. government.
